Project Type: Educational - Media Com 201
Role: University Student
Deliverables:
Paws & Claws Holistic Animal Clinic, a small organization located in the eastern US, is dedicated to the delivery of effective and harm free veterinary care by employing the use of remedies and treatments that are derived from natural sources. The company takes great pride in their holistic approach to healing and the application of a “patient-first” mentality.
They offer care for all types of animals from dogs and cats to more exotic species. Services such as natural, alternative medicinal treatment, message therapy, and acupuncture are available to keep our friends happy and healthy via natural methodology.
I was provided with a compnay brief including a mission statement, vision, and list of basic services. I was then tasked with the creation of a logo, business cards, letterhead, and envelope to provide a cohesive branding suite for the company.
For those that are willing to go the extra mile to ensure that their beloved additions to their household receive effective, safe medical treatment, Paws and Claws is here for you!
My goal was to effectively communicate this notion to their potential clientele by representing elements of nature through color and form while acknowledging the focus on veterinary medicine and providing a sense of, much needed, calmness through color and a flowing font selection.

Logo Design
I wanted to create a mark that would communicate the vision of the company. I used a leaf, along with the color green to symbolize their specialty in natural medicine. The dog and cat silhouettes are obviously intended to point to veterinary care. I chose blue as my second color due to its calming nature and frequent use in medical branding.
Stationery Set
All stationery pieces were based on the palette, style, and graphic representation presented in the logo. This unifies the brand and makes it instantly recognizable via repetition. I also chose to incorporate a small paw print mark into the some of the elements. This is not meant as a secondary logo but should be seen as a “stamp of approval” and symbol of trust from their patients.
Website Design
I took it upon myself to work with a website design for this company. As with all deliverables, I maintained consistency within the branding structure and strived to communicate the natural, nature of their veterinary care, if you will. The landing page offers a call to action to set up an appointment online and hassle free along with an introduction to the chief veterinarian at the clinic.
Packaging & Product Design
Finally, I decided to round out the project with containers for their natural veterinary treatment products along with mockups for shopping bags for their products to be safely carried to their destination. Again, all graphical and typographical elements are consistent with the branding guidelines.
